Jones, Cara Jean (Marriage - 15 June 1963)

The United Church of Christ was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Cara Jean Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Jones of 206 W 5th Street and Ralph G. Clodfelter, son of W. J. Clodfelter of Cambria. The Rev. W. C. Koehler performed the double ring nuptial ceremony.

As she approached the altar with her father, the bride wore a ballerina-length gown of Peau Satin, styled with Chantilly lace overskirt that featured a lace front panel.  The Basque bodice was styled with a Sabrina neckline and three-quarter length sleeves.  Seed pearls and sequins trimmed the neckline. A bouffant veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls and crystals.  The bridal bouquet was a lavender orchid, surrounded by white tea roses, and white roses cascaded from the bouquet.

Miss Dorothy Yonkee of Antigo was her maid-of-honor. She was attired in a ballerina-length gown of lavender sheer nylon over taffeta. She wore a halo headpiece of lavender flowers, with lavender blush veil, and carried a crescent bouquet of lavender carnations.

Karen and Jerry Gross, children of Mr. And Mrs. Clifford Gross, were ringbearers. Each carried a white satin heart-shaped pillow, decorated with lavender ribbon. Karen was attired in a white tiered ruffle dress with a lavender sash.  A halo of lavender carnations styled her headpiece.

Robert Mashin of Huntley, Ill., served as bestman.  Ushers were Robert Tichy and Raymond Wetzel of Neillsville.  Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott, sang, "Panis Angelicus" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

One hundred twenty guests attended a reception in the church dining hall which was ornamented with a low bouquet of lavender and white carnations. The tables were decorated in lavender and white, with centerpieces of May poles, the streamers secured by varied colored rosebuds. A five-tiered wedding cake was made by Mrs. Carl Eisentraut.  A circle from the church decorated and supervised the reception.

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School, attended Wood County Normal and the McConnell Airline School. She has been employed in a Marshfield Hospital.  Mr. Clodfelter is with the air force and has been stationed in Great Falls, Mont.  He is now being transferred to Spain for three years.  His wife plans to join him there in a few months.  He is also a graduate of Neillsville High School.

People from away here for the wedding were: W. J. Clodfelter and sons of Cambria; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hepburn of Mauston; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Brooks and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Feil of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. W.
