Downer, Beatrice (Marriage - 29 June 1963)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday uniting in marriage Miss Beatrice Downer of Granton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Downer of Granton, and Carl Frederick Sandberg of Minneapolis, Minn., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sandberg of Princeton, Minn.

The Rev. Paul Doering of the Loyal Methodist Church performed the double ring ceremony in the Granton Methodist Church.  The altar was decked with baskets of chrysanthemums, gladioli and candelabras. Every other pew was marked with a white bow.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor length gown of pure silk peau.  The bodice boasted a bateau neckline adorned with French Alencon lace.  Long tapered sleeves buttoned at the wrist.  The bouffant skirt featured a front panel styled with controlled front effect, with fullness in the back falling into a chapel train.  Her silk illusion veil cascaded from a matching crown headpiece.  Miniature red roses and stephanotis made up the bridal bouquet.

Matron-of-honor was Mrs. Donald Dayton, a sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Mrs. Robert Deglman, of Princeton, Minn., twin sister of the groom.  Donald Dayton of Granton was bestman.  Groomsman was Bob Deglman, and ushers were John Foster and James Lee.

They new Mrs. Sandberg is a graduate of Granton High School and is employed by the Minnesota Conservation Department.  Mr. Sandberg graduated from Princeton High school and works for an ordnance company in Minneapolis.

On their return from a wedding trip along the north shore of Lake Superior, Mr. and Mrs. Sandberg will reside at 406 Lowrt Ave., N. Minneapolis.
