Gelhaus, Lucille (14 JUNE 1919-01 AUGUST 1957)

 

Mrs. Arthur Gelhaus, Jr., 38 year old mother of nine children, died at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester August1 where she had been a patient since July 22.

 

Funeral services were conducted in Medford Augustb5 by Msgr. Gregory Rueter at the Holy Rosary Catholic church and burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

 

The former Lucille Schwieso was born June 14, 1919, at Loyal and received her education here. She was employed at the Medford hospital as a nurse’s aid prior to her marriage to Arthur Gelhaus Jr. at Loyal on June 19, 1940. She was a member of the Holy Rosary church and the Rosary Society.

 

The nine children surviving besides her husband are: Mary Pat, 16, Sally 15, Carol 12, Jane 9, Nick 7, Laura 5, Susan 3, Peter 2, and Charles 6 months. Also surviving are her step-father and her mother Mr. and Mrs. William Beaver of Loyal; two sisters, Miss Evelyn Schwieso and Mrs. Ray (Veronica) Giesel, Chicago; one brother, Theodore Schwieso, Loyal; half sister, Mrs. Donald (Jeanette) Cole and one half brother, Donald Beaver. Her father preceded her in death.
