Cleveland, George (04 AUG 1868-27 AUG 1957)

 

George Clayton Cleveland, 89, died at his home here at 9:50 A.M. Tuesday, August 27. He had been ill for the past few weeks.

 

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginning Wednesday evening and will be taken to the Methodist Church at noon Friday, where funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery. The Rev. Wendell Bennetts will officiate.

 

George Cleveland was born in Calumet County, Aug. 4, 1868. March 10, 1896 he was married to Ardella Mae Dilley at Symco.

 

The family came to Clark County in 1912 and settled in the Greenwood-Loyal area. They came to the city of Loyal 21 years ago. For most of his life he worked as a painter and decorator.

 

He is survived by his wife and four children, Everett at home; Clifford at Albuquerque, New Mexico; Archie, Racine; and Mrs. William (Helen) Zell, Greenwood; by five grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.
