Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie visited in Fond du Lac last weekend with their son, Emory, and his family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Felix Adams have returned to Milwaukee after a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. John Speich.

Miss Louise Keiner was elected vice president at the first fall meeting of the Happy Hustler Homemakers Club Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. John Kaltinger.  Other officers are Mrs. George Scherer, president; and Mrs. John Lindner, secretary-treasurer.  A report on the Clark County Homemakers Fall Council meeting held here September 19 was given by Mrs. Lindner and Miss Keiner.  Mrs. Eugene Carteron reported that since the last meeting members baked nine birthday cakes for residents of the home for the aged here.  Plans were made for the program of the year, project leaders were selected and meeting places and dates were decided on. The next meeting will be held October 15 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. John Lindner.  Miss Louise Keiner will present the lesson on "Combating Food Misinformation."

The Woman’s Society of Christian Service met Friday afternoon in Grace Methodist Church. The group made plans to sponsor their annual bazaar and smorgasbord on October 16.  Mrs. John Syth was appointed chairman of the kitchen committee; Mrs. Wilbur Stewart, dining room; tables, Mrs. Leon Kuester; publicity, Mrs. Truman Hill; tickets, Mrs. Robert Bartelt, and Mrs. Charles hare, bazaar chairman.

 

Reports were given by those who attended the mission meeting in Unity September 25.

 

The week of Prayer and self denial from October 25 to 31 will be observed at Grace Church with a special service at 2 p.m. October 25.  Program arrangements will be made by Mrs. Elery Moberg, Mrs. Francis Clintsman and Mrs. Fred Clintsman.

 

Mrs. Robert Bartelt presented the program, "The Church in East Asia," assisted by Mrs. Kuester.

 

The next regular meeting will be held November 1. Hostesses will be Mrs. Harold Dillenbeck, Mrs. Peter Korntved and Mrs. Elery Moberg; program chairman, Mrs. Walter Swieso.
