Geo. Howard made a business trip to Greenwood last Friday.

 

Geo. Drake of Heathville went to Hayward Saturday to spend a week with relatives.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gotter and children of Chili were in town on Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Gerzemehle, with her son Louis and daughter Amanda, are visiting at Owatonna, Minn. since Wednesday.

 

Chester Finnegan and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Berg were motoring Sunday and visited Greenwood, Loyal and other places.

 

Mrs. P.M. Ross will entertain the O.E. S. birthday club next week Thursday afternoon.  All visiting O.E.S. are welcome.

 

Mrs. Otto Walter and little son of Freeport, Ill., were guests at the Geo. Fraser home the first of the week.

 

Miss Pearl Brooks, who came home from Stevens Point last week on account of the illness and death of her Grandma Brooks, returned to her studies there again on Monday.

 

The Misses Laura Gerzemehle and Clara Drescher came over from Neillsville Sunday and spent the day here.

 

Ross Paulson transacted business at Marshfield on Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Gerlach Sr. was at Neillsville on Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Gustie Glines visited her sister, Mrs. Mert Perkins, at Neillsville on Saturday.

 

Miss Lydia Schier came home from Marshfield Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Sam Cook and daughters Leah and Ella spent Thursday at Marshfield.

 

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Trimberger, a boy early this week.

 

A.J. Knorr’s warehouse east of the depot "went down" on the east end Saturday morning.

 

Children’s Day in Rev. Zielsdorf parish will be celebrated by a picnic in Bealer’s grove Sunday.

 

Mrs. B. Tykac and children are here since last Saturday and are now well settled on the Robert Riedel place west of town.

 

After a week’s visit in the H.E. Williams home, Mrs. Laura Brown returned to Neillsville on Thursday.

 

Ross Paulson leaves for South Dakota again the latter part of this week to purchase another carload of hroses.

 

Geo. Wilding purchased a Ford touring car of Knorr & Rausch last week.

 

Mrs. Laura Geske of Milwaukee after a ten day visit at her brother Chas. Christman’s went home, Friday.

 

Noble Downer went to Hayward Thursday to visit his son Albion and enjoy a spell of fishing.

 

Geo. King came home of r a day under the parental roof last week Thursday.

 

John Bladl went to Hokah, Minn. Monday to attend the wedding of his sister. He returned home Wednesday.

 

Robert Teatz came home from Jefferson County Monday.  He went down last week to attend the funeral of his father.

 

Gardner McClaflin and son Merrill were over from Arpin late last week and purchased some horses of Ross Paulson.

 

Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Rose spent last Friday with friends at Marshfield.

 

Albert Schlinsog went to Owatonna, Minn. Saturday to visit at his uncle Tischer’s.

 

Will Churchill came up from Milwaukee Saturday to assist in the care of his father.

 

Mrs. Max Geimer and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee were Neillsville visitors Sautrday.

 

Mrs. Alex Kriewaldt of Marshfield, convalescing after her recent illness, visited friends here the first of the week.

 

Gust Deutsch of Friendship who was called to Neillsville late last week by the serious illness of his father, called on friends here Monday.

 

The Misses Mildred and Almeda Bouvran of Mosinee came last week Friday to visit at the home of their sister, Mrs. Geo. Hart and niece Mrs. Leland Davis.

 

Dr. B.P. Churchill came up from Milwaukee Friday morning of last week to assist in the care of his father James Churchill, who was so ill at the P.J. Kemmeter home.

 

Mrs. Al Nonhof went to Unity Saturday and made an over Sunday visit with relatives at that place.

 

The Misses Rosa and Elda Viergutz spent Saturday afternoon at Marshfield.

 

Mrs. Will Schafer returned from her visit at Whitehall on Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Richard Braatz and sister Miss Bertha Riedel, went to Wausau Friday and remained until Monday visiting relatives.

 

Mrs. Gus Hagen and children went to Neillsville Saturday and remained until Wednesday visiting relatives.

 

Paul Handt came home from the Marshfield hospital Saturday evening and remained until Monday morning.

 

Mrs. Gustie Breed is having the interior of her home remodeled and considerable improved this spring.

 

Wm. Klein and Chris Gerzemehle went to Athens Wednesday for a visit at the Mike Hubing home.

 

Mrs. Augusta Masche, after an extended visit here at her son G. Reichert’s, went to Haugen Saturday to visit her son, Wm. Reichert.

 

Mildred Kintzele, Jennie Ackerman, Sadie Wegner and Pearl Berg completed the course and are the graduates of our school this week.

 

Mrs. H.B. Holmes entertained the Circle and a few invited friends Wednesday afternoon.  Four new members were added to the Circle, namely Mrs. Otto Henze, Mrs. Al Nonhof, Mrs. Geo. Wilson and Mrs. Chas. Reed.

 

A.J. Spry went to Rochester, Minn. Saturday in search of his father-in-law John Patno, who was reported to have left the Mayo hospital there two days earlier and not arriving home or no word having been received from him put A.J. on the anxious seat.  He found the old gentleman convalescing nicely in a private boarding house and they are expected home soon now.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Plaul went to Marshfield Tuesday to spend a couple of days with their daughter Mrs. henry Neinas who is very ill at her home there.

 

Mrs. Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Westphal were here from Neillsville on a horse buying trip last Friday.

 

Mrs. Geo. Walls and daughter of the town of Loyal took the train here Friday for Harkin to visit the former’s father Jos. Cousnell, who is ill.

 

Mrs. Will Geisler and children joined him at Greenwood last week Thursday.  They have taken up their residence there.  He has employment at the carpenter trade.

 

Mrs. Fravert with Mrs. albert Schwarze and daughter Adeline of Greenwood, and Miss Ann Fravert of Milwaukee, arrived here Saturday and remained until Monday afternoon, guests at the John Trimberger home.

 

Mrs. Lavey and little son, Mrs. A.J. Knorr, Mrs. Fisk Lee, Mrs. Melvina Wright, Mrs. H.E. Williams, the Misses Bertha and Elda Helm, were among the Granton people at the county seat on Monday.

 

Wm. Ward, who is here from Watford, Canada on a visit, spent last week among the old friends in the Clemens Kuechenmeister neighborhood.  This week he is in Greenwood and vicininty.

 

Mrs. Otis Beardsley and baby Sylvia arrived here late last week for a visit at the Homer King home and at G.L. Beardley’s in Neillsville Saturday and remained until Tuesday.

 

Mr. E. E. Butter’s Holstein sale at Hewitt came off the 22nd inst., and was a pronounced success, though advertised only locally.  This success demonstrates again the great favor in which the black and white are held in public favor.  Quite a bunch of admirers of the cattle attended from the vicinity of Granton, among them T.F. Lee and others.  Seven cows and heifers, ranging in age from 2 to 5 years were sold for $2095, an average price of $299.27.
