Wilson Mallory of Stevens Point is spending the week here.

 

A.J. Knorr’s warehouse was put back onto its foundation again this week.

 

Mrs. J.M. Tompkins, Mrs. W.S. Davis and Mrs. John Pietenpol spent Wednesday at Marshfield.

 

Knorr & Rausch early this week received another carload of 6 Ford cars.

 

Mrs. P.M. Ross entertained the O.E. S. Birthday Club yesterday afternoon.

 

Frank Potter’s silo was blown down during the storm last week Wednesday, killing two valuable cows and severely injuring 4 others.

 

Marguerite Morris entertained a score or more of her playmates at a party yesterday in honor of her 12th birthday.

 

Ross Paulson is again in the Dakotas on a horse buying trip.  He expects to return late next week.

 

Paul Handt is home from the Marshfield hospital since last Saturday.  He appears to be quite well again.

 

Robert Chapel is here from Missouri visiting relatives and old acquaintances since Saturday.

 

Mrs. T.D. Wage spent Thursday and Friday of last week between the Anton Hoganson and A. Degener homes at Chili.

 

Mrs. Gus Marg and son Emer of the town of Fremont, and Mrs. J. Breseman of Lynn visited Neillsville and Granton friends Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas of this place, with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Neinas of Fremont autoed to Marshfield last Friday for a visit at their father Henry Neinas’ home.

 

Walter Graves and his daughter Mrs. Walter Rowe returned home on Wednesday after a week’s visit at Fond du Lac.  Mrs. Graves, who accompanied them down, remained for a more extended visit.

 

Mrs. Scoles and her granddaughter Jessie Scoles, after a several weeks visit here with the former’s son James, returned to Richland Co. Tuesday.

 

Mrs. A.J. Knorr will entertain the Circle next week Wednesday.

 

The Misses Mariah and Ora Davis spent Saturday with friends at Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas autoed to Grand Rapids Monday in response to the intelligence of the drowning of a cousin of Mrs. Neinas there Saturday.  The funeral was held there Tuesday morning.

 

Miss Helen Davis of Greenwood is here since Monday on a several weeks visit to her aunt, Mrs. Geo. Huntley.  She will spend several days of next week in attendance at the teachers institute in Neillsville.

 

Miss Mary Grasser is home since Monday, after a several months millinery engagement at Watoma, Minn.

 

Frank Rogers sold his farm to Perry Benedict and will sell his personal property at auction Wednesday, June 11th.  Frank expects to move to Washington with his family in the near future.

 

Alvin Reichert resigned his job as clerk in Witte’s store June 1st and will open a photograph gallery in the same building which will be occupied by his brother Ferdinand as a jewelry store.

 

Dr. F.T. Weeks of Neillsville, after a long absence in various hospital where he took treatments, has returned and re-opened his dental parlors and having quite recovered his health will be glad to see both former and new patients.

 

The eleventh grad graduating exercises, school program and address by Prof. Sims of the Stevens Point Normal was an interesting event and claimed the attention of a good sized and appreciative audience at the opera house Thursday evening.  Owing to the Neillsville High School graduation exercises being on the same evening, many people interest there were necessarily absent here.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hilman and little son were here from Jackson last week on a visit at the Henry Sternitzky home.  Henry went to Wausau with them Friday for a day among old friends.

 

The Mesdames Hugh Berg, Eugene Crandall, G.E. Amidon and F.J. Baer saw "The Girl from Missouri" at the Neillsville opera house last Saturday night.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anding of Altoon, with her sister Miss Elsie Breseman, came up from Milwaukee Saturday.  After an over Sunday visit at the Philip Grassman home, Mr. and Mrs. Anding left for Altoona.

 

Rev. Reiff’s parish will celebrate Children’s Day next Sunday, June 8, with a picnic in the church grove.  Services will be held in the forenoon and afternoon, and a dinner is to be served as usual at a nominal cost.  Everybody is welcome.

 

Mrs. M.V. Ayers, after an extended visit at her son Joy’s in Washburn and an over Sunday visit at her son Gustave’s, went home to Neillsville Monday.

 

The Willard Christman family has returned from their winter stay at Hewettville and has been at home on their farm in the town of Lynn for several weeks past.
