Geo. Beaver went to Athens Thursday to spend several days with relatives.

 

Joe Krause entertained a goodly bunch of neighbors and friends at a barn dance the 4th.

 

Geo. Frei had a Vesper Open Door silo erected on his place last week.

 

Mrs. Gardner and daughter of McCord are here visiting at the Gay Winn’s since Tuesday.

 

Leonard Cole is at Stevens Point since Monday, engaged in bookkeeping.

 

Mrs. Eichenberger of Plymouth, after a three weeks visit at D.H. Rhines’, went home on Monday.

 

Miss Nellie Lockman came up from Chicago late last week for a visit with the home folks.

 

Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Morris and son Grant are home from Cambria since Sunday.

 

Mrs. Herman Schoengarth spent Monday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Hanford Sparks of Sherwood is home since last week Thursday from an 8 months absence at Park Falls.

 

Miss Christine Keiler came up from Chicago Friday for a visit among relatives.

 

Mrs. Leland Davis and daughter Minerva returned on Monday from a five day visit at the Chas. Chapel home in Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Felzer went to Marshfield Thursday to be with her father J.W. Van Fleet, who was operated on at the hospital that morning.

 

Ray Knickle purchased an Indian motorcycle from Hugh Berg last week and now enjoys spinning through the countryside.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. hart and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman of Duluth, autoed to Mosinee on Monday.

 

Miss Alice Brussoc of Milwaukee arrived here Tuesday on a several weeks visit at the Emil Riedel home.

 

Miss Clara Goebel came home from Milwaukee, Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Albert Mabie spent Wednesday with friends at Neillsville.

 

John Schafer and his helper are busy painting about town this week.

 

Mrs. Martin, after a several days visit at John Bladl’s, went home to Chili on Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Budge came down from Minneapolis last week Thursday and remained until Wednesday, guests at the W.S. Davis home.

 

Philmore Kemmeter motored to Stratford and spent Sunday with relatives.

 

The Misses Bessie Pearl and Haidee Beeckler, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Clark Waterman, came home to Chili Monday and spent the day assisting the bride in getting her new home in order and ready for occupancy.

 

Mrs. E.R. Wonser went to Sheboygan Thursday in response to news of the death of an uncle residing there.

 

Glen Rowe and family of Marinette came last week Thursday and were guests at the W.M. Rowe home until Monday.

 

Roy Sherwood of Marshfield has charge of the Granton Brass Band Barber Shop since Wednesday.  Mr. Collins accepted a position at Cedar Grove, for which place he expects to leave for the latter part of this week.

 

Mrs. Jennie Graves was a Neillsville visitor Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Josie Marx of Neillsville came over Wednesday to visit Mrs. Hugh Berg.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hart and daughter Iva of Humbird came Wednesday to visit between the George and Fred Hart homes.

 

Calvin Scoles came up from Madison Wednesday for a few days visit with his dad.

 

J.W. Van Fleet went to Marshfield Wednesday and entered the St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he is to undergo a surgical operation and remain at least two weeks.

 

Judge O.W. Schoengarth went to Menasha Thursday to be best man at his friend Ira Wolff’s wedding.  It’s a wonder some girl don’t get Oscar to serve as bridegroom.  We guarantee he would make a good one.

 

Mrs. L.L. Ayers came home on Saturday from a two week visit with her son Charles and family at Minneapolis.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Dawes have returned from the Pacific coast to again take up their residence in this vicinity.  Clark County looks very good to them now.

 

Mike Hubing went home to Athens Saturday.  His granddaughter Leona Beaver went home with him for an extended vacation visit.

 

Miss Emma Kimball went to Hudson last Friday and made an over Sunday stay, called there by the death of a relatives.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Marg, Mrs. Gerzemehle and son Louis, and Mrs. Wm. Storm were Sunday guests at the Geo. Frei home.

 

The Misses Laura and Elsie Neitzel are visiting at the Geo. ure home in Neillsville since Wednesday.

 

W.F. Dahlke, on the F.D. Riedel farm, is enjoying a visit from his mother and sister who arrived here from Marathon City last Monday.

 

Mike Grasser left for Sheboygan Tuesday night to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Henry Schider, who died there early this week after a short illness.

 

There was a very small attendance at the school meeting last Monday night.  It was voted to raise $2500 to meet next year’s current expenses and to grade the school yard.  W.S. Davis was re-elected treasurer.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Doughty of Grand Rapids are visiting between the Chas. Gall home in Sherwood and the Wm. Meddaugh home in York, since Tuesday.

 

The Misses Hermina and Ida Voland of Milwaukee came up from Winona, Minn. Monday to visit their sister, Mrs. Louis Meyers.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Ducklow of Spring Valler, after a week’s visit with their daughter Mrs. Albert Davis, returned home on Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clark Waterman of Chili returned from their wedding trip Sunday and spent the day at the E.A. Beeckler home.

 

Rev. Zielsdorf, Rev. Kemenah, Rev. Reiff and daughter Charlotte, with Aug. H. Riedel went to Wausau Wednesday to attend the annual meeting of the Synod of Ohio.  They will be absent a week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter, their daughter Rose and son Stanley left for Milwaukee by auto yesterday on a several weeks pleasure trip.

 

Carl and Frank Storm are home after a visit at Geo. Frei’s.  They brought the measles home with them.  The school teacher had them and passed them around.

 

Frank Roehl and Lloyd Kimball came home Monday from St. Paul, whither they went last week Wednesday.  It appears that Lloyd had to keep Frank tethered to him by a rope for fear of his being kidnapped by the city girls.
