Buddenhagen, Sandra Kay (Marriage - 25 January 1964)

Baskets of white gladioli and chrysanthemums adorned the altar of Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville Saturday for the candlelight service which united in marriage Miss Sandra Kay Buddenhagen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Buddenhagen of Rt. 2, Neillsville, and Joseph Kreitlow of Neillsville.  The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. G. Burtness.

Approaching the altar with her father, the bride was attired in a floor-length gown of imported bouquet taffeta and hand-clipped Chantilly lace. The fitted Basque bodice, with a pearl and sequin trimmed Sabrina neckline, was buttoned down the back and had long, fitted sleeves that buttoned at the wrist.  The full, bouffant skirt was complete with side panels of lace with self material, rose bud trim, and cascaded into a chapel train.

Her fingertip veil of imported bridal illusion was attached to a Princess Margaret crown trimmed with sequins and pearls. She carried a crescent bouquet of pink roses and stephanotis.

Miss Lola Buddenhagen of Neillsville was her sister’s maid-of-honor.  Mrs. Merlyn Kroll served as bridesmaid. They wore ballerina-length dresses of royal blue nylon sheer over taffeta with fitted bodice and a bateau neckline.  Their skirts were styled with a controlled front and a bustle back with a bow trim. They wore matching shoes of royal blue satin. Further accenting their attire they wore white fur hats and carried white fur muffs trimmed with pink sweetheart roses.

The groom was attended by Byrl Buddenhagen of Lake Geneva, as bestman.  Groomsman was Merlyn Kroll of Neillsville.  Ushers were Larry Smith of Stevens Point and Jerry Poziombke of Neillsville.

The nuptial music consisted of "Song of Ruth" and "The Lord’s Prayer," sung by Mrs. John Flynn, Jr., of Oshkosh, who was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Elwyn Baker.

Following the ceremony 150 guests were served buffet style in the church parlors.

The bride is a 1958 graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed as check-out girl at the IGA store. The groom was graduated in 1958 from Wisconsin Rapids High School and is employed as meat manager in the IGA store in Neillsville.
