When a  man drives his auto into a village or any other place and proves he is slightly under the influence of soda-water by kicking over the traces, tearing down hitching posts and making traveling dangerous to the public, that is no sign that am an although he holds the title of constable should fly at his throat, take possession of his car, order the undertaker, and kill all the dogs and tomcats in town.  No indeed, fellow citizens, papers are required in like cases for the following day he might be called upon to prove that the autoist was in no fit condition to handle his car and suppose it was proved beyond a shadow of doubt that the driver’s brain was affected by the fumes of gasoline and had not been drinking at all, and furthermore it is our opinion that the constable of Chili stands ready to do his duty when necessity demands.
