Seefeldt, Eldore "Jack" (September 1, 1922 - December 15, 2011)


Eldore "Jack" Seefeldt, age 89, of Unity, died Thursday, December 15, 2011, at home, with his family by his side. 


Jack was born September 1, 1922, in Clark County, the son of Edwin and Gladys (Anderson) Seefeldt.

 

He proudly served his country during WWII from 1941 to 1945.  On July 6, 1945, he was united in marriage to Adeline Greening. The couple spent they’re entire working life farming.


Jack was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. He enjoyed time spent with friends, family, and especially his grandchildren. He took special pride in gardening and growing trees. Jack loved to listen to the Lutheran Hour and he also liked playing Yatzee.


He is lovingly survived by his children, Darold Seefeldt, Joyce Alsteen, Duane (Rendean) Seefeldt, Rhonda (Joe) Weix, Trudy Carey, Mark (Vicky) Seefeldt; as well as 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline; parents, Edwin and Gladys; son-in-law, Tim Alsteen; as well as 2 brothers, Maynard Seefeldt, Philmore "Sam" Seefeldt; and a sister, Dorothy Struck.


Funeral services were held at 1 p.m on Monday, December 19, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. The Rev. David DePaoli presided. Visitation was held Sunday, December 18, 2011, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer and again from noon until the time of service Monday at the church. 


In lieu of flowers those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Jack’s name are encouraged to do so to "The Lutheran Hour".
