Miss Clara Hubing spent several days of last week here at her brother Will’s.

Lloyd Kimball and a Neillsville boyfriend left for the Dakota harvest fields yesterday.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hart autoed to Waupaca Wednesday for a couple of days stay and outing.

Mrs. Ernest Montag of Lynn called on town friends last Friday.

Mrs. Clark Waterman of Chili visited relatives here Wednesday.

Merrill McLaflin of Arpin is visiting at Rice Davis’ since Wednesday.

Amanda Gerzemehle, Mrs. Hale Davis and Mrs. R.R. Rath spent Thursday with friends at Marshfield.

Mrs. Robert Machel went to Stevens Point Thursday for a several weeks visit.

Leland davis has employment in the Paulson gargare at Neillsville since Wednesday.

Mrs. Gardner McLaflin of Arpin joined her son Merrill at the Rice Davis home Wednesday.

Mrs. Elizabeth St. Germain and John Sparks were in from Sherwood on business last week Thursday.

A case of diphtheria is reported in the Sam Fields home in Sherwood. 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. beaver and children, and Mrs. Hike Hubing spent Sunday with relatives in Loyal.

Mrs. Dan Gluch and son Ronald went to Eau Claire Wednesday to visit Dan, who is in the hospital there.

Mrs. Frank Davis entertained the Circle Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Albright and two children of McMinnville, Oregon were guests of Dr. and Mrs. P.M. Ross here a couple of days this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Furlong, with their three children, after a four month visit with relatives here, left on the return trip to Centralia, Wash. on Wednesday.

Mrs. Bruno Dudei and her three children and Miss Clara Goebel are on a week’s visit to relatives and friends at Globe since Wednesday.

Mrs. W.S. Davis and children are spending the week in the Holvorson cottage at Dells Dam.  W.S. and the balance of the household will go down for a weekend stay.

Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Knorr and daughter Myrtle, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Tompkins and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tompkins autoed to Greenwood Sunday and dined there, then continued on to Withee and Owen, then home through Loyal that evening.

August Lautenbach, Oscar and Jake Breseman, Alvin Cole, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gerber and three daughters, Mrs. Herman Schoengarth and Miss Marion Smith were among the Granton people at Neillsville Wednesday.

Miss Hallie Eberhardt was up from Stevens Point and made an over Sunday stay, and returns today for a week’s stay.  Arthur Stallman went over to accompany her up today.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tompkins came down from Rhinelander last Saturday for an over Sunday visit with his parents.  They returned home Monday morning.  Postmaster and Mrs. Tompkins accompanied them as far as Marshfield.

P.J. Kemmeter came up from Milwaukee by rail Saturday on a several days business trip.  He returned Wednesday and expects to get home by auto with his family on Sunday.

One of Louis Meyers’ boys in the town of Washburn was bitten by a snake last Friday.  The parents were frightened and summoned medical attendance, though the boy suffered no ill effects from the bite and is okay again at this writing.

Found - Ernest Kuechenmeister found a pocketbook last Sunday morning in the road between the Otto Hantke and Otto Walters home.  Owner may have same by calling on Ernest, proving property and paying for this notice.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pollnow, with their sons Walter and Harry and daughter Susie, drove over from their home 9 miles west of Neillsville Sunday and spent the day with the Geo. Marden family and in attendance at the church picnic.

A fine new house is nearing completion on the Wm. Lautenbach farm.  It is 26 x 30 and two stories high.  Andrew Palmer did the carpenter work.  Mr. Lautenbach went to Neillsville Monday to find someone to do the plastering.

Mrs. Frank Downer went to Greenwood Wednesday to consult Dr. Hugh Schofield of Chicago, who was there at that time.

Miss Pearl Davis, who was visiting her sister Mrs. W.E. Benedict in York, returned home to Marshfield Friday morning in response to news that her father Jerry Davis, had through a runaway the day before, suffered a double fracture of one of his legs and other injuries.  Her brother Jay accompanied her over.
