Greenwood New Post Office (2 July 1964)

Greenwood will have a new postoffice, according to word received today from Cong. Lester Johnson. The word came to him from Postmaster Gen. John Gronouski.

The new postoffice will be constructed on a site located at the northwest corner of Division Street and Andrews Avenue. Preliminary plans call for 2,000 square feet of floor space, with an area of approximately 8,800 square feet for parking and movement of postal vehicles.

Plans and specifications for the new building, as well as bidding forms, will be made available to prospective bidders by the U. S. Postoffice at an early date.

The site option will be assigned to the successful bidder, who will purchase the land, construct the building and lease it to the department, Johnson said.
