Twait, Nels C. (24 February 1904 - 22 July 1964)

 

Saturday afternoon funeral services for Nels C. Twait, 60, were conducted from the Longwood Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold in charge.  Burial was made in the church cemetery at Longwood.  He died July 22 following a short stay at the Marshfield hospital.

 

Nels C. Twait was born in Freedom, Ill. February 24, 1904.  He came to Wisconsin with his parents and resided with them and farmed until the early 1930s, when he worked in Minneapolis, as a mechanic. He then returned to his parent’s farm south of Owen in the1940s, where he farmed with his brother until his sudden death.

 

He is survived by three brothers, Silas of Good Hope, Ill., Elmer of Chicago, and Olaf at home; three sisters, Martha Sorenson of Owen, Mrs. Vaino (Evelyn) Talso of Greenwood, and Elizabeth at home.  He was not married.

 

Pallbearers were: Art Himes, Donald Nordlof, Charles and John Kovatch, James Peterson and William Kangas.

 

Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold sang two selections.  Her daughter, Debra accompanied her.

 

Relatives attending from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Silas Twait and Sara and Vernon, Good Hope, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Twait of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Twait, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bingham, West Allis; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Lenser, Waukesha; Mrs. Wm. Paul Morois and son, Fort Atkinson; Mrs. Patricia Richers, Chicago; Edythe Vormon, Wisconsin Rapids; Inga Firnstahl, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schelklman, Waukegan, Ill.; Mrs. Raymond Kobylarczyk, Thorp; and Mrs. Binging, Unity.  Others attending were from Greenwood, Loyal, Owen and Withee.
