Riber, Sue (15 SEP 1962)

To the beautiful strains of the wedding march, escorted to the altar on the arm of her father, Miss Sue Riber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Riber of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage to Emil Niemi Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Niemi Sr. of Lake Worth, Florida, and formerly of Withee.  The 11:00 a.m. wedding took place at Our Savior Lutheran Church at Lake Worth, Fla., on Saturday, Sept. 15th, 1962, with the Rev. Kimberley performing the ceremony before the altar which was adorned with two seven-piece candelabra and bouquet of white carnations with blue trim.  The bride wore a street length bridal gown of imported white organza with pale blue flowers embroidered throughout the material.  The scooped neckline and short sleeves on a fitted bodice offset the full bouffant skirt.  The bride wore short white gloves, pale blue satin slippers, pearl earrings, and carried a white Bible with a single white orchid.  Her fingertip veil with embroidered flowers clustered at the crown.

Mrs. Ouida Brown was the matron of honor and Leo Joyce, the best man.  Ushers were Thomas Riber, brother of the bride, and Arnold Stenzel, a friend of the groom.

The matron of honor was attired in a pale pink chiffon street length dress designed with a scooped neckline, short sleeves and full skirt.  She chose white satin slippers, white short gloves and pearl earrings for accessories, and carried a bouquet of white pompoms with pink trim.

Both the groom and the best man wore black suits.

The bride’s mother was attired in a white silk dress with bronze and gold scroll, and wore a corsage of bronze pompoms.

The groom’s mother chose a navy blue silk dress with pale pink pompoms for her corsage.

A reception was held following the wedding at the American Polish Club and afterwards at the Emil Niemi Sr. residence.

After a honeymoon trip which took them along Florida’s west coast from Fort Meyers to St. Petersburg and Tampa, the newlyweds returned to their home where they will reside at 26 Wisconsin Street, Lake Worth, Fla.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee School and completed a laboratory technician’s course at St. Mary’s Hospital at Wausau.  She has been employed as a technician in the hospital at Gainesville, Fla., and presently employed as X-Ray Technician at the Lake Worth General Hospital.

The groom is a graduate of the Owen-Withee Public Schools and is employed at Pratt-Whitney Aircraft in the Communications Dept.
