Petersen, Bonnie Lou (22 SEP 1962)

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roy Segerstrom, who were married Saturday, Sept. 22, 1962, at 2:00 p.m. in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Greenwood, will be making their home at 2013 Cameron St., Eau Claire, while he is a student at Wis. State College in that city.

Miss Bonnie Lou Petersen, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Petersen, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Segerstrom of Withee, before the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold.

She was given in marriage by her father, and Mrs. Bonnie Hansen presided at the organ for Mrs. Janet Phillips as she sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Always."

Chosen by the bride was a chapel-trained gown of silk faced peau de soie with a demure bateau neckline on the Basque bodice and a trapunto rose pointed up by imported crystal bead.  The same crystal and rose design detailed the dome-shaped skirt with a cabbage rose and a rosebud of Peau highlighting the chapel train.  Her Cleopatra crown with pearlized orange blossoms held a bouffant veil  and the bridal bouquet was comprised of various colors of roses.

Mrs. Violet Turenne, Stanley, was matron of honor, with the bridesmaids, Mrs. Julie Peterson, Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Janet Theirl, Chicago, Ill, Miss Janet Unger, Eau Claire, and Miss Sandra Emmerson, Minneapolis, Minn.

Each bridal aide donned a gold brocade dress having a scoop neckline with an angle bow at the waist in back and carried an arrangement of yellow, white and bronze chrysanthemums.

David Segerstrom, Withee, was best man in the groom’s party.  Richard Vaitonis of Owen, Peter Huus of Eau Claire, Douglas Bergstrom of Owen and Patrick Devine, Eau Claire, were groomsmen.  Thomas Gehrke, Owen, and David Devine, Withee, ushered.

A dinner was served to guests in the church parlors and a 7:00 p.m. reception took place I the Meadowview Country Club at Owen.

The newlyweds are graduates of the Owen-Withee High School, he graduating in 1959 and she in 1960.  The groom also attended the University of Wisconsin before entering the Eau Claire college, which the bride also has attended.
