Haas, Elaine M. (9 June 1930 - 16 January 2012)

 

Elaine M. Haas, 81, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Barron Care and Rehab, Barron.

 

She was born June 9, 1930, at Neillsville, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Wasserberger) Kessler.  She grew up on a farm near Neillsville, graduated from high school and attended beautician school in Eau Claire.  On June 13, 1957, Elaine married James Haas at Neillsville and moved to Barron to be with Jim. She was a homemaker, raising her four girls.  She worked as an Avon lady and also provided daycare.

 

Elaine enjoyed walking the dogs, traveling and family vacations.  She enjoyed coffee time with her friends.  Elaine loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and liked to cook.

 

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Barron, and a member of the ladies guild.

 

Surviving, in addition to her husband of Barron, are daughters, Jeanne (Dennis) Darnold of Hudson, Mary Koenig and Lori (Dean) Springer, both of Barron, and Teresa (Walter) Perkins of River Falls; nine grandchildren; a great grandchild; a brother, Louis (Shirley) Kessler of Neillsville; and a sister, Angie Larson of Neillsville.

 

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leo, Carl, Jr., and Kenneth; and a sister, Mildred
Schwellenbach.

 

Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Jim Bartelme officiating. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home, Barron, and an hour prior to the services at the church.  Burial will be held at Wayside Cemetery, Barron, on a later date.
