Christopherson, Oscar (21 September 1889 - 23 December 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Oscar Christopherson, 75, of Neillsville, who died here December 23.  The Rev. E. G. Burtness of the Calvary Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Oscar Christopherson was born September 21, 1889, in Clinton.  His parents were the late Carl and Pernille (Nelson) Christopherson.  He came with his parents to Clark County when he was a small child. The family located on a farm in the Town of Seif in the spring of 1901.  He received part of his education in the rural schools of the county.

 

On July 3, 1916, he was married to the former Alma Poppe in Neillsville. They farmed for 25 years, retiring in 1941, when they moved to their present home on Grand Avenue.

 

He is survived by his wife; a sister, Mrs. Clyde (Manda) Johnson of Rockford, Ill.; and a brother, Joseph Christopherson of Rockford, Ill.

 

Pallbearers were: Alvin and Paul Jacob, Legare Apfel, William Oldham, Roland Kalsow and William Schwellenbach.

 

Robert Mitte sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In The Garden" accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

People from away here for the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swartz, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mund, Kenneth Prock, Mrs. Dorothy P. Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Johnson and Joe Christopherson, all of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Christopherson of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelson, and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Nelson of Edgerton; William Oldham of Strum; and Mr. and Mrs. Allois Prock of Owen.
