Hill, Tilda (20 MAY 1896 - 8 JUN 1963)

 

Services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Bethany Lutheran Church for Mrs. Tilda Hill, 67, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Saturday at 3:10 a.m. at the Havenet Nursing Home here.  She had been in poor health for the past year and a half.

 

The Rev. Lauri Isaacson officiated and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery at Withee.

 

Pallbearers were Matt Bombach, Toivo Makinen, Newell Wilson, Ensio Bjorn, William Mattson and William Wilson.

 

Mrs. Grace Kallia and Miss Bunee Kraut, with Mrs. Kallio at the organ, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beyond the Sunset."

 

Mrs. Hill was born May 20, 1898, in Finland and came to the United States in 1913.  She was married in 1916 in Marquette, Mich. To Richard Hill, who preceded her in death.

 

She came to the Owen area in 1943 and resided here since.  Mrs. Hill was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Helen) Stalcar, Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. Claude (Ruth) Wilson, Owen; a son, Richard Hill, Waukegan, Ill., and six grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband, two children and a brother preceded her in death.
