Washburn (14 January 1965)

Mrs. Eugene Simmons entertained the Washburn Homemakers club last week Thursday with a large attendance.  Mrs. Adolph Mazourek and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn presented the project, "Prepared Mixes and Master Mix."  After the meeting they had a ‘silent auction’ of articles of food or unused articles, which netted about $4.

Mrs. Elmer Kapfer will be hostess at the next meeting, February 11.  They will exchange Valentines with secret pals.  Visitors will exchange Valentines, also.  Mrs. John Reinart and Mrs. Ralph Short will present the project, "Spot Removal and Dry Cleaning Techniques."

Ice fishing seems to have been the sport of several of our men folks the last few weeks.  Harry Kissling goes almost every day to Lake Arbutus, where his son, Ernest, has an ice fishing house. Clarence and John Reinart, jack Urban, William Rizner and Jim Vincent drove to Onalaska Thursday, where they went ice fishing. They all came home with their limit of bluegills.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wucki visited at the Charles Havlicek home last week Tuesday night.

Mr. and Mrs. William Tullis spent Saturday afternoon and were supper guests at the Ralph Short home.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hintz called at the Mrs. Art Odell home last week Tuesday.

Larry Von Gnechten of Wausau was a Wednesday dinner guest at the Irving Stevens home.

Alvin Krause and sons, Leland and Elmer, and John Reinart, visited at the Clarence Reinart home one night last week.

Mr. and Mrs. William Tullis were Friday dinner guests at the Mrs. Art Odell home, and assisted with some work.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn and sons were Sunday dinner guests at the Paul Kuhn home.

Harry Carstensen and Mrs. Schmidt called at the Mrs. Art Odell home Friday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens and Mrs. Floyd Wall visited their father, T. M. Winters, at Memorial Home Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wucki were Saturday night visitors at the Donald Havlicek home.
