Huddleston, Craig (Eagle Badge - 1965)

Craig Huddleston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren A. Huddleston, became the 12th Boy Scout in the history of the movement here to be awarded the Eagle badge, highest in scouting and the ninth under Scoutmaster Richard F. Schneider.

When he received the coveted Eagle Award at the banquet commemorating the 50th anniversary of scouting in Neillsville, Saturday, Craig already had zoomed beyond the 21 merit badges required for the rank. He had 23 - and, at 14, he is pointing for a minimum of 30 during his scouting career.  His 21st merit badge, which clinched eligibility for the Eagle rank, was in safety.

He started scouting in November, 1961, and thus has made the climb to Eagle rank in about three and one-half years. That is somewhat better than par for the course.

Craig is a polite, serious young man.  He has received encouragement in his scouting activates from his father and mother, both of whom have been interested in scouting activities - and, needless to say, in the boy. Craig’s father, a member of the Neillsville District board of Education, is serving as assistant scoutmaster, a position he has filled for several years.
