Gunia, Claudia (Marriage - 19 June 1965)

Miss Claudia Gunia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gunia of Rt. 1, Neillsville, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony Saturday with Jerome Braun of Portage, son of Mrs. Amelia Braun of Loyal.  Officiating at the nuptial mass in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal was the Rev. Norbert E. King.  Nuptial music was furnished by St. Anthony’s school choir.

Bouquets of white gladioli and pink carnations served as altar bouquets.

The bride entered the church with her father in a floor-length gown of Peau de soie, the skirt of which was fashioned with a large chapel train, appliquéd with lace inserts and seed pearls. An illusion lace veil with double layers of lace, with the forward part adorned with seed pearls, held her short veil.

Mrs. Velora Roehl of Loyal was matron-of-honor.  Bridesmaids were Miss Cherie Braun of Norridge, Ill., and Miss Sharon Gunia of Neillsville.  The attendants wore pink floor-length gowns of Peau de soie, complimented by pink headdresses. They carried bouquets of white chrysanthemums and pink carnations.

The groom’s attendant was Lowell Roehl of Loyal, bestman. Dennis Gunia of Neillsville and Vern White of Norridge, Ill, were ushers.

The bride, a graduate of Wisconsin State University-Whitewater, has been teaching in the Sparta area schools. She is a Pi Omega, and Pi-NEA-WEA member.

Mr. Braun, a graduate of Wisconsin State University-River Falls, teaches in the Portage schools.  He is a Beta Beta Beta fraternity member.
