DIES SUNDAY EVENING

Attended a Card Party at the Catholic Church and Suffered a Stroke On Return Home.

The village of Spencer suffered a great loss late Sunday evening, when Mrs. John Neidlein, one of its most respected and well known citizens, passed away about 11:30 o’clock.  Mrs. Neidlein had attended the public card party at the Catholic church basement and about 11:00 o’clock returned to her home, and a few minutes later suffered a stroke of paralysis which caused her death a few minutes later.  Medical aid was called but nothing could be done to prolong her life.  Mrs. Neidlein had been active all day Sunday and in the evening acted her normal self, and when word went out to the village residents Monday morning that she had died it seemed impossible for everyone knew she had not been ill.  A woman with noble character has gone to the hereafter, leaving a place in the social life of Spencer that can never be filled.  She was a good Christian woman, a friend to those who were in need, and all the people mourn in the passing of Mrs. Neidlein.

Laura Cramer was born in the town of Brighton, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cramer, on January 25, 1887, and grew to womanhood there.  She was employed for a time as a saleslady in the Graves Mercantile company store in Spencer.  On August 26, 1914, she was married to John F. Neidlein, in Spencer, Wis.

Surviving Mrs. Neidlein are her husband, a son, Ted, of Spencer, and a daughter, Ione of Neillsville, a sister, Mrs. Otto Andre of Spencer; four brothers, Frank and Louis Cramer of Spencer, George of Marathon, and Charles of Perkinstown, and two grandchildren.  Both of her parents died in 1926.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 1:45 o’clock at Swarthout Funeral Home followed by services at Trinity Lutheran church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. A. c. Stapel officiating.  Burial will take place in the Spencer cemetery.
