Ristola, Anna A. (March 19, 1916 - March 18, 2012)

 

Anna A. Ristola, age 95, of Withee, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford.


A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.


Anna was born at home on March 19, 1916, to Nestor and Gunilla (Alin) Ristola in Withee, Wisconsin. She attended White and Hixon Heights country schools. She graduated high school in Withee in 1934, and for the first year after, she worked in Chicago, Ill., doing various jobs.


Anna then moved back to help her parents’ farm and worked in different stores in Withee and Owen and moved to Owen. She worked in bakery and IGA store.


After retirement she volunteered at Clark County Health Care Center for several years.


Anna moved into Continental Manor in Abbotsford in January of 2006, where she remained until death. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nestor and Gunilla Ristola; her brothers, Wayne, Eino, and Eugene; and her sister, Ina Nielsen (Nels).


Survivors include her niece, Carolyn Brossow of Abbotsford; her nephew, Stephen Ristola of Milwaukee; and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews
Anna always enjoyed loving company and always had coffee and a snack for every one.


She enjoyed gardening flowers, reading, traveling and visiting with friends.
