York Center (22 December 1911)

 

Santa Claus will soon be here!

 

R. E. Lawrence sawed wood for John Kubat Saturday and Monday.

 

Allie Turner went to Chippewa last week Monday, returning Tuesday for a short visit to his father.

 

Pearl Pease gave a birthday party at her home Friday evening. Refreshments were served and all report a good time.

 

There will be a short Christmas program at the M. E. Church Sunday evening.  Everyone is invited

 

Horace Lawrence purchased the Rodman farm south of Neillsville.  His brother Earl is looking after the stock till later on when Horace and wife will take possession.

 

The young folks met at John Vande Berg’s Sunday evening and Tuesday evening at Jerry Davis’ to practice for Christmas.

 

The Royal Neighbors enjoyed a treat Thursday as a result of their contest. They also elected officers.

 

There will be a concert at the M. E. Church Wednesday evening, Dec. 27; starting at 8 o’clock sharp.  Admission is 10 and 15c.  A cordial invitation is extended to all.

 

Forest Rowe delivered a load of hogs to Neillsville, Tuesday.

 

R. E. Lawrence sawed wood Tuesday.

 

York Center and the surrounding community have been well represented at Neillsville the past week.
