East Lynn (22 December 1911)

We have had a talk with the school superintendent in regard to the way our school is running and have been informed that everything is O.K.  If those parties that are constantly sitting on the fence and hauling would attend to their own business, they would not have the time to spare to hurl defiance into the teeth of others.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Dietrich are enjoying a visit from the latter’s brother and uncle from Watertown.

There is going to be a Christmas program in the German Lutheran Church Christmas Eve.  Everyone is welcome.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Guk were Granton callers Tuesday.

A young couple was seen going south Tuesday morning arm in arm.  It is not known if they are in search of a warmer climate or were merely taking weather observations. That is the way all of us got our start, Oscar.  So stick to it this time, and success shall be thy reward.

Harry Eide spent Monday and Tuesday at Neillsville as witness in the Stickert case.

Will Guk left for Tripoli last week where he intends to work in a logging camp this summer.

Some people in this part of the country including the writer are having continental dreams.

Mrs. Amelia Schwartz after spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. Herman Jensen returned to her home at Loyal, Monday.
