Before a nuptial Mass in St. Francis de Sales Church, Phoenicia, Miss Marie Barbara Caton daughter of Mrs. William Caton of Checkerster, and William P. De Koski Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William P. De Koskie Sr. of Kingston, exchanged marriage vows Saturday, June 25, 1960 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Nally, MS, officiating.

 

The bride’s gown was ballerina length of imported French lace over white satin, with high neckline and long pointed sleeves and embroidered with seed pearls.  Her veil of silk illusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls and she carried a white hand painted brocaded missal with tea roses and white velvet leaves.

 

Mrs. Joseph Donohue of Mohonk Lake was matron of honor and Miss Shirley Ruoff of Lanvesville was bridesmaid.  They both wore white lace dresses over maize taffeta with headpiece of yellow satin bows with maize veils and carried bouquets of daisies.

 

The bride was escorted by her uncle, Richard P. Cash.  Anthony J. Vecchio of Syracuse was best man.  Ushers were William Caton, brother of the bride, and John Murray.

 

The church was decorated with vases of white gladioli and the pews were marked with white satin bows.

 

The bride’s mother wore a mauve pink crepe dress with dusty pink baby orchid corsage.  The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue crepe de chine dress and a crème baby orchid corsage.

 

A buffet luncheon was served to over 100 guests are Rolling Acres, Glenford.

 

The bride graduated from Lawrence High School in Lawrence, L.I., and Moran Spencerian Business School and was employed as secretary at the State University College of Education, New Paltz.

 

Mr. De Koskie is an alumni of State University Institute, Utica and has a BS degree from Syracuse University.

 

When they return from a three wee trip they will live in Albany.

 

Out of town guests were from N.J., N.Y. City, Syracuse, N.Y., New Paltz, Y.Y., Calderwell, N.J., Lanesville, N.Y., Thorp, Wis., Kingston, N.Y., Long Island, N.Y., Mohauth Lake, N.Y.  The young couple also received a telegram from Germany from Denny De Koskie, a brother of Billy, and one from Ireland from Mrs. Caton, an aunt.
