Masters, Ulysses G. (19 AUG 1863 - 16 JAN 1915)

Ulysses G. Masters died Saturday morning at his home on Court Street after an illness of several weeks duration. Deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Masters on Aug. 19, 1863. He came to Neillsville a number of years ago and engaged in business, dealing in sporting goods. He was united in marriage to Miss Effie Tompkins in Sept., 1888, and to this union one son, Harry, was born. Mrs. Masters died about eight years ago. Mr. Masters was united in marriage to Mrs. Laura Mabie three years ago last April. He is survived by his father and mother, his wife and son, and three brothers and four sisters--R.A. of Greenwood, Arthur of Chicago, Alva of Deerfield, Mrs. Violet King of Los Angeles, Mrs. Jennie Gustin of New Mexico, Mrs. Dora Neitz of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Molly Wahley of Wautoma. “Stub”, as he was generally known, had a large acquaintance in Neillsville and vicinity and was treasurer for a number of years. The funeral was held from the house Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
