George V. Weyhmiller, vice president of the board of directors of Citizen’s State Bank, died Saturday evening, April 28, 1962, at the Sunset Convalescent Home at Fairchild. He had been a patient there for the past two weeks. Previous to that he had been a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, since suffering a stroke on Feb. 19. He was 80 years old.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 Wednesday at St Anthony’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Norbert E. King officiating. Burial was made int eh parish cemetery. A general rosary service was held Tuesday evening at the Myre Funeral Home.

Mr. Weyhmiller was born Jan. 10, 1882 in the town of Sherman, Clark Co., Wis., and received his education in the Sherman Town grade school and the Unity High School. He was married to the former Kathryn Crossen on Oct. 29, 1907 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. She died in 1952. He farmed in the town of Sherman all of his life until the time of his retirement in 1944, when they moved to the city of Loyal. The farm is now occupied by his son, Dale.

In 1907 he joined the Modern Woodmen of America and was still a member at the time of his death. In 1929 he became a director of Citizens State Bank, of which he was presently vice president. From 1920 until 1932 he served as a chairman of the town of Sherman and he also served for twenty years as a member of the school board of the town of Sherman. For forty years he was a Lynn Insurance agent and director. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Church and its Holy Name Society.

Survivors include two sons, Dale and Mile of Loyal; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Armella) Rossman of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren; a brother, Otto of Loyal; and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Lipke of Mendota, Ill., Mrs. Della Kopka of Oakland, Calif. and Mrs. Esther Hudson of Santa Rosa, Calif. Two sisters, Mary and Agnes, preceded him in death.
