Misfeldt, Roland R. (1 MAY 1924 – 22 OCT 2012)

Roland R. Misfeldt, known to everyone as Rod, passed away peacefully at the Oakwood Villa nursing home in Altoona on October 22, 2012. He was the youngest of four brothers that were born and raised on a farm south of Thorp. Rod was born May 1, 1924 to John and Mabel (Hubbard) Misfeldt. Rod graduated from Thorp High School in 1942 as class valedictorian. He spent most of his adult life in Withee, Wisconsin as a Real Estate Broker, investor and appraiser. His other trades include; artificial inseminator, turkey farmer and member of the bank board of the State Bank of Withee. He married Mary Soik in 1946 of which they had one son, Todd born in 1954. They later divorced in 1961. Rod married Lovetta Quinn on August 11, 2002 at the New Harvest Assembly of God Church in Withee. Rod is survived by his loving wife; Lovetta Misfeldt, son; Todd (Celeste) Misfeldt, and step-daughter; Judy (Greg) Sommerfeld. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter; Vicky Anderson, on August 1, 2012. He is also survived by his grand-children; Jacob Hein, Jamie Hein (Vincent, Nicholas and Gabriel), Gena Callihan (Carly Murray), Ansel and Tanya Misfeldt, Michelle Nelson (Brian, Lucas and Allison Gilmore (Gunnar) and Alan Meier (Amanda McMullan, Hannah Gallowich and Madison Stives).

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and especially flying airplanes from his private airport south of Withee. Rod and his wife, Lovetta, also enjoyed traveling to Florida, Mexico, Hawaii and Ireland.

Rod will be greatly missed by his family and the friends, he has made throughout the years, including Bruce and Ann Fredrickson. They had a great impact on Rod's life regarding his spiritual growth and maturity in the Lord. Thank You both!

Funeral Services for Rod will be at 1:30 pm Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of services. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee.
