Schiller, Hazel (21 Oct 1936-03 Oct. 2012)

Hazel E. Schiller, 75, Loyal, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, at a later date.

Hazel Eileen Mengeling was born on Oct. 31, 1936, in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Anna (nee Torguson) Mengeling. Her family moved to Wisconsin when she was a baby. She attended school in Richfield, Pittsville, Neillsville, and Marshfield, and graduated from Keisyer High School, in Keister, Minn., I 1955. She married Elwood Schiller on July 20, 1957, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. She farmed for 57 years with her husband, first in Pittsville, then in Marshfield, and finally moved to Loyal in 1972. She also worked for two years at Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Marshfield, 15 years at Fiskers in Spencer, three years in the kitchen for the Loyal Public Schools and seasonally at Figi’s in Marshfield. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its TLCW, and a former ofClark County Homemakers. She had many interests, but especially loved spending with her family, walking with friends, the Brewers, the Packers, volunteering with Progressive Travel, and working at Figi’s.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Elwood, Loyal; her five children, Edwin (Diane) Schiller, Loyal, Candace (Terry) Nau, Medford, Jay Schiller, Marshfield, Dean Schiller, Greenville, and Steven (Laurie) Schiller, Marshfield; nine grandchildren, Scott (Leann) Goessl, Krista (Jeremy) Goessl, Lindsey (Nick) Wells, Jeremy Schiller, Tyler Schiller, Derek (Katelyn) Aumann, Maryssa Schlough, Kelsi (Josh) Trachte, and Taylor Trachte; four great grandchildren, Evelyn, Liberty, Haily, and Payton; one brother, Wiker (Shirley) Mengeling, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; special family members, Allan and Julie Trachte, and Sarah Bray; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Earl Mengelimg; and two sisters, Lucille Davidson and Myrtle Trachte.
