BURIAL OF ERNEST EILERT (1842-1902)

The funeral of the late Ernest Eilert took place at the old home--now the Listeman home--at the brewery Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. It was conducted by T. G. Owen, of Arcadia, and attended by one of the largest gathering of citizens that ever came together for a similiar purpose here.

The floral offering were unexampled in number and beauty, showing the deep sympathy of the large circle of friends and their esteem for deceased.

The Fresno Evening Democrat of Aug. 11 contained a very complete account of Mr. Eilert's death, from which we take the following:
"Yesterday morning at 5:15 o'clock Ernest Eilert, head and front of the Fresno Brewing Company, expired suddenly. Those of his relatives who are here were overcome by the shock and fail as yet to realize their loss. Mr. Eilert, over 6-foot tall, weighing 215 pounds, with the flush of health on his countenance, was the last man of whom such a sudden demise could have been expected. He appeared to be in the best of health, not complaining, and living with that cheerfulness and good nature which comes from the consciousness of having accomplished something.

"He had been subject to heart disease and it is believed that, simultaneously with cholera morbus, he suffered an attack of rheumatism, which affected the heart and caused death."

The paper contained a long and complimentary notice of Mr. Eilert and his business. He was 60 years of age.--Neillsville Times.
