Klisc, Anthony (1911 - 1996)

 

Anthony Tony Kliscz, age 84, Gilman area resident, passed away at his home Saturday morning, April 20, 1996. Tony was born on October 24, 1911 at Wolf Run, Ohio the son of Andrew and Tekla (Smalec) Kliscz. The family moved to the Lublin area when he was a young man and he grew up there. He was married to Barbara Bertha Komanec on May 19, 1939 at Lublin, WI. They moved to the Gilman area where he logged and operated a milk route for years. He operated the Gilman Gamble Store and was a school bus driver for over 28 years. He retired in 1972. Tony was a member of St. Peter and Paul Parish Knight of Columbus Gilman Lions Club a director of the Gilman area Credit Union.


Tony is survived by his wife Bertha of Gilman, WI 2 sons: Raymond (Theresa) of Lublin, WI and Wayne of Coral Gables, FL 1 daughter: Kathleen (Louis) Filas of Cadott, WI 9 grandchildren: Pamela (Phil) Danielson, Debra (Gary) Benish, Barbara (Tom) Freagon, John (Amy Jo) Filas, Julia (Jeff) Foley, Todd (Jodi), Terry, Frances, Andrew Kilscz 6 great-grandchildren: Mike and Ashley Danielson, Danielle and Lucas Benish, Trevor and Sierra Kliscz 1 brother: Samuel Kliscz of Tucson, AZ 5 sisters: Anna Maier and Helen Lisle of Graham, TX, Ella Chemik of Tampa, FL, Mary Kuester of Las Vegas, NV, Jeanette Baker of Frankfort, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents 2 brothers: Harry and Joe 1 sister: Mildred Mathey.


Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, April 23, 1996, 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, WI with burial at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman, WI. Fr. Brian Przyborowski officiated. The Parish Rosary was recited at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Gilman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
