MRS. JOHN LEOPOLD (1865 - 1948)


Mrs. John (Harriet) Leopold, 83 or 84, died Saturday, July 10, in the home of Mrs. Kate Dresden, where she had lived for the past 2 years. she had been in ill health and bedridden most of that time.


She was born Harriet Ayers in Neillsville, where she received her education. In 1884 she married Louis Brillion at Neillsville. Mr. Brillion died in Crandon, where the couple had lived after moving there in 1903. In 1923 she moved back to Neillsville, where she lived until her death. In 1936 she married John Leopold in Hokah, Minn. Mr. Leopold died in 1945.


Mrs. Leopold is survived by two children, Mrs. William (Norma) Sherlock of Superior, and Mr. Donald Brillion of Minneapolis. She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and by two brothers, Charles Ayers of Mound, Minnesota, and Ernest Ayers of Duxberry.


Funeral services were held Monday evening in the Georgas funeral home, with the Rev. S.D. Robbins officiating. The body was taken to Crandon for burial Tuesday morning.


Betty Larsen sang two selections, accompanied by Mrs. Jess Scott. From out-of-town came Mr. and Mrs. William Sherlock, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Solin and Lee and Billy Solin, all of Superior and Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Brillion of Minneapolis.
