Olsen, Andrew (1856 - 1937)

 

Rites were conducted Tuesday afternoon for Andrew Olsen, Loyal, who died August 15, at the home of his son Christian, at the age of 80 years, 11 months, 28 days. Services were held at 1:30 at the home and 2:30 o'clock at the United Lutheran Church at Greenwood.


The Rev. A. E. Norson officiated at the rites and burial took place at the Beaver Cemetery. Six grandsons acted as pal bearers and six grand daughters were flower bearers. A native of Norway, Mr. Olsen was born August 18, 1856, and came to this country in 1879. Upon his arrival in this country he located at Neenah, Wis. He was united in marriage to Ellen Christopherson, Feb. 14, 1885. They also resided at Sussex and Hartford, Wis., from 1889 until 1892. In 1892 they pruchased a farm in the Town of Unity where he resided until death with the exeption of 8 years spent with his son Christian who then lived near Greenwood. Four sons Ole, Albert, Christian, and John, 13 grand children and one half brother, S. M. Johnson survive him. His wife preceded him in death 23 years ago.
