NINA G. POTTS (1912 - 1991)


Nina G. Potts, 78, Greenwood, Clark County, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 1991, at Marshfield Living Center, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 4, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville. Rev. Linda Kuhn officiated and burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Ormand, Ronal Ormand, Duane Karinz, Robert Karainz, Walter Ormand and Darrel Edwards.


Nina G. Scharf was born June 18, 1912, in the town of Fremont, Clark County, to William and Emma (nee Ratch) Scharf. She received her education in the town of Lynn. She married LaRue B. Potts Nov. 29, 1935, in Valparaiso, Ind. He preceded her in death May 29, 1985. She received her teaching education at Neillsville and then attended summer school in Eau Claire for several summers furthering her teaching education. Following school she taught in several small schools. She then went to Loyal, where she taught for 14 years and retired in 1970. She entered the Marshfield Living Center Nov. 16, 1990. She was a member of United Church of Christ, Neillsville.


She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Selma Hansen, Milwaukee.


She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother.


Gesche Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
