Schultz, Alvin H. (1923 - 1974)

 

Services For Alvin Homer Schultz have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Eugene Antrim, pastor, will officiate at the Wednesday service, and interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. (Death occurred 10/27/1974)


Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home, Greenwood beginning Tuesday afternoon and at the church from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.


Mr. Schultz was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Gratiot and was married to the former Irene Griswold on May 16, 1947, at Belvidere, Ill. They continued to live there until 1958, when they moved to a farm near Greenwood.


He is survived by his wife a son, Gary, Greenwood a daughter, Connie, Hortonville three brothers, Clayton, Greenwood, Clifford, Ladysmith, and Harold, Phoenix, Ariz. a sister, Mrs. Garth (Clara Mae) Sheley, Mountain Home, Ark. and two grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were two brothers, two sisters and his parents.

HERE IS A FAMILY PROTRAIT OF ALVIN IRENE GARY AND CONNIE SCHULTZ,
Circa 1962
The family moved to Greenwood from Belvidere, IL, in 1955. They lived on a farm on County O, 5 miles west of Greenwood. Alvin died in a tractor accident in 1974. Irene still lives at the original farm, and is married to John Gatz. Gary currently lives in Almond, WI, and Connie is in Herrin, IL.
