Frank Joseph Spath, 90, Stanley, passed away Sunday night, February 28, 1999 at Dove Health Care in Eau Claire due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.


Frank was born to a large family on February 7, 1909 in the Town of Edson, Chippewa County to Bernard and Rose (Lang) Spath. He grew up on the family farm in Edson and as a young man went to Chicago where he started a 40 year career with Western Electric (AT T). While there he me Mary Haba. They married October 14, 1933 at Sacred Heart in Edson.


Frank loved to garden, hunt, spin a good story, spend time with family and friends and dote on his little dog. He was a member of St. Mary Czestochowa and later Holy Family Parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Emer-Quinn Council 3249. He had a generous nature and a full life.


Of the many who will miss him are his five children: Dennis Spath of Chicago, Ronald Spath of Fairfield, Iowa, La Vergne Dunn of Fairfield, Iowa, Larry (Linda) Spath of Stanley, Deborah Putnam of Eau Claire his grandchildren: Laura, Stephanie, Kenneth, Rachel, Ashley, Mara, Keith and a great grandchild Richard. His brother Norman (Geneva) of Chippewa Falls and his sister Delphine (Walter) Hurt of Bloomer. The beloved who have passed away before him are his parents, his wife Mary (September 24, 1955) two grandchildren: Keith Dunn and Regan Dunn and eight brothers: Adam, Fred, Thomas, Pete, Albert, Andrew, Joseph and George and three sisters: Susan, Annie and Helen.


Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 6, 1999, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, WI with Father Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Town of Edson. Friends may call on Friday, March 5 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, WI. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be held on Friday evening, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
