Mrs. R. Tischendorf--Dies Suddenly Sunday

A shocking death occurred when Mrs. Robert H. Tischendorf passed away unexpectedly on the farm north of the village Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Death was caused by chronic Myocarditis and came suddenly. Mr. Tischendorf was busy a few minutes earlier transplanting some tomato plants and sat down for a rest. While seated there she gasped suddenly but when Mr. Tischendorf, who was seated near, reached her side she was dead.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the home at 1 o'clock and at the Evangelical Peace Church at 2 o'clock with Rev. G. C. Hahn, of Colby officiating. Burial took place in the Peace cemetery with her four sons, William H., Walter, Harry and Paul acting as pall bearers. The Women's Union of which she was a member, attended the services in a body.

To many acquaintances of the Tischendorfs, Mrs. Tischendorf was sweet, loveable lady of refined character. Wherever she went, she always made a host of friends who will greatly miss her cheery smile and kind words. her place as a devoted and tender wife and mother can never be filled. Yet since she has gone to her Maker, he will send a comforter to fill the emptiness and keep her alive to her loved ones in thoughts and actions.

Olga Steinhaueser was born Dec. 8, 1867 at Eisenberg, in Grosherzogthum, Germany.  Sept. 29, 1889 she wed Robert H. Tischendorf.  In 1891 they moved to Dorchester from Germany.  They lived in and around the area until 1902, when they moved to their present farm. Six children were born to this happy union, all of whom with their father survive her. They are William H., Paul, and Helen, Mrs. John Mueller of Dorchester, Clara, Mrs. Ernest Hancock of Los Angeles, Calif., Walter of Virocqua, and Harry of Park Falls. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren and 3 brothers and one sister in Germany. She was 65 years, 4 month and 22 days old at the time of death.

Many friends join us in offering deepest sympathy to those who will miss her joyful smile.

Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tischendorf, Virocqua, Harry Tischendorf and family, Alfred Meyer and family of Park Falls, Fred Koehler and family, Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Tischendorf, Minocqua, Mrs. Martha Dahl, Ogema and a host of friends from Medford and Stetsonville.

Mr. Tischendorf accompanied his son, Walter to Virocqua, Friday for a few weeks visit with them.
