MARTHA VANGORDEN DIES IN WASHINGTON RECENTLY

Mrs. Harold (Martha)Van Gorden, 78, of Bremerton, Washington and formerly of Alma Center, died Thursday, January 11 in Bremerton.


She was born in Black River Falls, March 26, 1900, to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fischer. She married Harold VanGorden, September 7, 1920, and they lived in Alma Center until his death October 21, 1961. About 15 years ago, she moved to Bremerton.


Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Betty Jo) Heier, Bremerton two sons, Harold, Jr., of Denver, Colorado, and Charles of Valier, Montana one brother, Harry Fischer, Black River Falls three sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Myrtle) Clodfelter and Mrs. Arthur (Beulah) Williams, both of Madison, and Mrs. Oscar (Harriet) Voelker of Colby and four grandchildren.


Services were to be held this Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Alma Center Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Merlin Sasman will officiate and burial was to be in East Lawn Cemetery in Alma Center.
The Jensen Funeral Home, Hixton, is in charge of arrangements.
