JONES JOHN TOMPKINS PASSES AWAY


Jones John Tompkins passed away at his home Sunday March 9, 1941 at 10:30 p.m. Deceased was born on the home farm, five and one-half miles south of Greenwood in the Town of Eaton, Clark County on Dec. 5, 1887.


He was a son of the late Frank Ann and James Tompkins and reached the age of 53 years, 3 months and 4 days. All of his life has been spent on the farm now operated by his brother Earl.


He leaves to mourn his loss one brother Earl and wife, one niece and nephew, also two aunts, Mrs. Ross Paulson, and Mrs. Herbert Fradette, both of Neillsville, also several cousins.


Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, March 12 with a short service at the Schiller Funeral Home at 1:30 followed by services at the Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. A. J. Abbott officiated. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The pallbearers were James Syth, Arthur Syth, Alvin Ehlers, Leo Stanley, High Christie, Lawrence Johnson.
