Mother of Spencer Resident Dies Nov. 6

Long Time Resident of Auburndale Passes Away Last Thursday Night at Her Home in Marshfield; Funeral Held Sunday Afternoon.

 

Mrs. Jessie L. Tollefson, aged 70 years, a pioneer of the village of Auburndale, died last Thursday night at her home in Marshfield, as a result of a complication of ailments.  Christian Science funeral rites were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, at a funeral home in Marshfield, and interment was made in Hillside cemetery.

 

Jessie E. Wasson was born Feb. 20, 1871, at Knowlton and moved to Auburndale, with her parents in October, 1878.  She was educated at Auburndale and grew to womanhood there, marrying Conrad O. Tollefson on June 1, 1892.  They lived in Auburndale until 1914, when they moved to Marshfield and Mrs. Tollefson had lived there since that time.  She is survived by the following children:  Robert Tollefson of Oconomowoe; Miss Miriam Tollefson and Bernard Tollefson of Seattle, Wash.; Miss Marge Purdy and Clyde Tollefson of Marshfield; Neil Tollefson of Spencer, and Misses Nora and Elsie Tollefson and Leon Tollefson at home.  Two sisters, Mrs. Emil Nestler of Pasadena, Calif.  and Mrs. Edith DeBoer of Bellingham, Wash., and nine grandhchildren also survive.  Mr. Tollefson died June 26, 1925 and six children also preceded her in death.
