Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal was the scene of the 5 p.m. wedding Saturday of Marlene Dobbe and Walter A. Mews. The Rev. John Pfohl officiated. Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Edd Dobbe, Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Mews, Junction City.

 

The bride wore a gown of nylon tulle over taffeta with a chapel train and a chantilly type lace yoke. There were lace motifs on her bouffant skirt. Her finger tip veil was of sheer imported illusion net. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

 

Miss Shirley Dobbe Marshfield was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Dona Schmidt, Marshfield, the groom’s sisyer, and Miss Carol Neubauer, Watertown, the bride’s niece. The attendants were in blue pure silk organza dresses, featuring scoop necklines and shirred three quarter length sleeves. Skirts were Harem style and they wore matching head pieces. They carried flowers of yellow and gold  pompoms in baskets.

 

Lloyd Mews, Junction City, was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Jerry Mews, another brother and Ray Link, a friend from Marshfield. Ronald Mews, a brother and Norman Schmidt, the bride’s cousin, of Loyal were ushers.

 

Mr. Vern Dahlby sang "Lords Prayer" and "Oh Promise Me>"

 

Miss Carol Noeldner was the organist.

 

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The supper was at the church hall and a dance at Bruno’s Ballroom in Marshfield. The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School and the groom attended Marshfield schools. The couple will reside in Marshfield.
