Hagedorn, Donna Lois (Marriage - 7 May 1966)

Miss Donna Lois Hagedorn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hagedorn of Rt. 3 Neillsville, exchanged nuptial vows Saturday with David Michael McDonald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis McDonald of Rt. 2 Neillsville. The Rev. David Witte performed the marriage ceremony in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.

Windows of the church and the altar were decorated with centerpieces of pink daisies, white feather chrysanthemums, pink and white carnations with ferns.

Two hundred guests witnessed the ceremony.

"O Perfect Love" and "The Wedding Prayer" were sung by Mrs. Irvin Marg, accompanied by Mrs. Alice Wegner, organist.

Mr. Hagedorn, who gave his daughter in marriage, escorted her to the altar.  For her wedding the bride chose an exquisite floor length bridal gown of Chantilly type lace.  The scalloped Sabrina neckline, enhanced with sparkling sequins, and long tapered sleeves, accented the fitted bodice. The bouffant story book skirt was fashioned with tiers of lace sprinkled with sequins, sweeping into a chapel train. Entwined pearls with pearl drops styled the crown, which secured the bouffant veil.  Red roses and white stephanotis with streamers studded with rose buds made up the bridal bouquet.

The bride’s twin sister, Miss Diane Hagedorn, was her maid-of-honor; Miss Lana Mitte and Mrs. Robert McDonald were bridesmaids.

Harold Hagedorn served as bestman. Groomsmen were Larry Adams and Robert McDonald.  Ushers were John and Jerold Hagedorn.

A reception was held, following the ceremony, at the Hagedorn home. A wedding supper was served at 4:30 p.m. in the church dining hall.

Mr. and Mrs. McDonald will reside in an apartment above the Globe store on their return from a wedding trip to St. Louis, Mo.

Both Mr. and Mrs. McDonald are employed as caretakers at Wedge’s Creek Research Farm, Inc.

People from out of town attending the wedding included: Mrs. Amelia Grabe of Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Larry McDonald of Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nemitz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Nemitz and family of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Helm and family of Granton; William Oldham of Strum; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Moldenhauer and family of Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Marg and family of Alma Center.
