Slone, Kathleen M. (Marriage - 9 July 1966)

Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood was the setting for the wedding Saturday of Miss Kathleen M. Slone of Greenwood to Richard W. Hutchison of Glenbeaulah.  The double ring, candlelight service was performed by the Rev. Carl Booher before an altar graced with baskets of gladioli arranged in half-fan style with Jack-straw daisies in front of the gladioli that also spread in half-fan arrangement.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Grant Slone of rural Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Hutchison of Glenbeaulah.

During the seating of guests, a string sextet from Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh played music by Purcell and others.  The processional, by organist Mrs. Jas. A. Musil, was Wagner’s "Minuetto."  Dan Slone sang, "The Song of Ruth" (Entreat Me Not to Leave Thee).  The bride and groom sang, "One Hand, One Heart."

The bride wore a full length gown of white bridal satin, styled with a fitted bodice that featured a scoop neckline and long, tapered sleeves accented with tiny buttons.  The bell-shaped skirt of embroidered satin, in floral design, was enhanced with a scalloped and embroidered border.  Her elbow length veil was secured to a Cleopatra headpiece by pearl edging.  She carried a bouquet of white butt4erfly roses against fan shaped loops of sheer tubing and salal leaves.

Attendants were Miss Bonnie K. Stewart of Poynette, a friend who attends Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh; Miss Rosemary Hutchison, sister of the groom, of Glenbeaulah and Miss Mary Slone of Greenwood, sister of the bride, as bridesmaids.  They wore gowns similar to that of the bride, with exception of short sleeves, and were white nylon organza over Honeydew melon green taffeta, with white daisies embroidered on the skirts. Their headpieces were cluster bows of taffeta that held face veils.

Miss Ruth Ellen Slone, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. She appeared in a gown styled like the other attendants and carried a white woven basket of white daisies and yellow roses.

G. Ross Hutchison of Plymouth was bestman. Groomsmen were Richard Slone of Greenwood, brother of the bride, and Russell Hutchison of Wichita, Kans., brother of the groom.  Ushers were Jerry and Rick Miller of Coal City, Ill., cousins of the bride.

The wedding reception for 300 guests was held in the church dining hall, after which guests were entertained on the lawn at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison are on a wedding trip - on the "Circle Route" over the Trans-Canada Highway and are carrying along with them their own canoe to enjoy occasional side trips on the lakes and waterways. They plan to be home at 89 N. Park Ave. Fond du Lac, after July 20.

The bride is a 1963 graduate of Neillsville High School and is presently attending Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh. She plans to graduate next June with a degree in music education.

Mr. Hutchison, a 1962 graduate of the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeaulah High School, attended Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh for one and one-half years.  He is employed by the Kohler Company in Kohler.
