Miss Esther Helen Leech became the bride of Robert Eugene Barth on Saturday, May 11 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp. Rev. Olson performed the two p.m. ceremony. Roy Brede sang “Because,” “The Wedding Prayer,” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Leech, Gilman and the groom is the son of Mrs. Gertrude Barth, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride wore a lovely chapel train gown of nylon sheer enhanced with Chantilly lace at scooped neckline and long sheer sleeves, tapering to points over the wrist. The skirt featured slef-fabric roses in front with a single rose highlighting the extremely full sweeping train. An elegant Chantilly lace Mantilla with silk illusion blusher adorned her head.

Miss Trudy Barth, sister of the groom from Madison, Alice Karpinski, sister of the bride of Thorp and Carolyn Vlietstra, a friend of the bride from Wausau, were the bride’s attendant’s wearing street length maize lace dresses with chiffon cummerbund with quarter length sleeve jacket. They had maize nylon braid crowns with aurora crystal and pearls topped by a halo veil.

Attending the groom were: Fred Barth and Edwin Barth, brother of the groom from Greenwood and Leon Leech, brother of the bride from Gilman. Ushers were Earl Leech and Leonard Barth.

The bride worked in Wausau for the past year and the groom is employed at Stanley where the couple will make their home after a short honeymoon.
