VanLoo, Lawrence (19 MAY 1895 - MAY 1963)

Lawrence VanLoo, age 68, passed away at 2:25 a.m. at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, Wis., having suffered a heart attack. He was born May 19, 1895 at Green Bay, Wis., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton VanLoo.

In 1907 he moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with the family, where he resided until 1912. He then became employed with an oil well organization and spent several eyars working in North Dakota and Calif. He returned to Thorp in 1928, where he was employed with Foremost Blue Moon Cheese, Inc. for 21 years. He spent his remaining year in Thorp.

Lawrence will be remembered as a kind friend and neighbor by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife and a son, Don of St. Paul, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Colby of Wis. Dells and Mrs. Fred Warns of Stanley, Wis. Preceding him in death were his aprents, a sister Marie and a brother Edward.

Military funeral services were held from St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 10 o’clock Wednesday, May 22, 1963. The Requiem Mass was offered by the Rev. Francis Brockman and burial took place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cyril Alger, John Barth, Thomas Polnaszek, Harry Smith, Wilfred Vanderhyden and William Wagner.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chopin, Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Elsie Colby, Mrs. Robert Casey and Mr. Dan Colby of Wis. Dells; Mr. Robert Colby of Merriam, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Hids and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Huls of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene VanLoo and Mrs. Hannah VanLoo of Eau Claire, Wis.; Mrs. Dorothy Frenette and Yvonne from Colby; Mrs. Dorothy Everett and Donna Ray of Minneapolis.
