Stange, Frank C. (04 April 1894-19 January 1961

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Frank C. Stange, 66, of route 1 who died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, January 19 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield after a lingering illness. Rev. V. A. Ganz was the officiating clergyman at the Trinity Lutheran Church and burial was made in the parish cemetery with the American Legion Post No. 175 conducting the military rites. Funeral arrangements were made by the Myre Funeral Home.

During the services Mrs. Romaine Russow sang “Sleeping Jesus” and “Heaven is my Home”. She was accompanied by Carol Noeldner.

Pallbearers were all veterans of World War 1. They were Philip Capelle, Edd Dobbe, Roy Thomas, Perry Volk, Vernard Kauffman, and Max Neitzel.

Squad commander at the military graveside rites was Oscar Fricke and the Color Bearers were Ed Malinowski and Everett Helms. Taps were played by LaMonte Johnston and the firing squad consisted of B. E. Artz, Dale Kuuffman, Ken Kanneberg, John Olsen, Lloyd Zimmerman and Byron Zepplin. All are members of the American Legion Post No. 175.

Frank Stange was born in the township of Loyal on April 4, 1894 and lived all of his life on he home farm. He was married to the former Bertha Lieske on November 18, 1920 in the Loyal township. Mr. Stange was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Post No. 175. He served as treasure of the Dodgeville school board for fourteen years and was a member of the Loyal Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, rwo sons, Herman Stange of Neenah and Frank K. Stange of Kenosha; a brother, Arno Stange of Stevens Point; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Frieda) Thrun of Comstock and Mrs. Herman (Ruth) Lieske of Loyal; and four grandchildren.

Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stange, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Alois Stange, Athens; George Kuntz, Aberdeen, South Dakota; Mrs. Edwin Vinton. Groton, Douth Dakota; Mrs. Amanda Van Guilder, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mrs. Harold Huebner, Deforest Harshbarger, and Mrs. Otto Lierman, Marshfield; Mrs. Herbert Hederer, Colby.

Friends from out of town who attended were Mr. and Mrs. MR. and Mrs. Alfred Oestreich and Mrs. Emilie Jenni, Spencer; Mrs. Louis Meier, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Franz, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. John Luthar, Wausau; Mrs. Max Huey, Stevens Point.
