Kurtinaitis, Anna (25 APR 1876 - 24 SEP 1963)

Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lublin for Anna Kurtinaitis, 87, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1963 at Stanley Hospital of old age. Rev. Anthony Matla officiated at the 9:30 a.m. service on Thursday, Sept. 26 and burial was in East Thorp Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Justin Jakowicz, Alfred Zielainis, Anton Norysewicz, Mike Milewski, Anton Wojt and Peter Deltovac.

Anna Vilkawskas was born April 25, 1876 in Lithuania, coming to America in April 1897 and residing in Baltimore, Maryland. She came to the Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) vicinity in 1902 and was united in marriage to John Kurtinaitis at St. Hedwig’s Church on May 11, 1902. They farmed in the town of Withee until 1942 when they moved to the city of Thorp.

She is survived by her husband John, one son Albin of Thorp, one daughter, Mrs. Aldona Milewski, Thorp, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother John Wolf and a sister Mary Walteraitis.
