Trindal, Orin (April 26, 1893; ?04 Feb 1961)

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, February 7 at 2 o’clock for Orin W. Trindal, 67, a leading citizen and businessman of Loyal and central Wisconsin, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield at 5 a.m. Saturday. He had been suffering from a serious heart condition.

Final rites were said at the Loyal Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Doering the officiant. Burial was made in the Loyal cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Myre Funeral Home and Masonic rites were conducted there Monday evening.

At the Masonic rites Monday evening the Memorial Services were conducted by Brother Frank Schwanke. The Worshipful Master of the Loyal Lodge 335 is Gilbert Kruger. Forty-two Masons participated with members present from the meillsville, Greenwood and Abbotsford Lodges.

Pallbearers were all members of the Loyal Lodge. They were J. R. Thomas, V. O. Kauffman, Jesse Raab, Perry Volk, Roy Hales and H. A. Rottjer.

During the church services James Colby sang “Abide With Me” and “Lead Kindly Light” He was accompanied at the organ by Miss Julie Ann Vajgrt.

Mr. Trindal who formed the O. W. Trindal Company here with branch mills in Ripplinger, Granton and Spencer, was born in Eau Claire on April 26, 1893. He received his education in Chippewa falls schools and was married to the former Hazel Wolfe of Chippewa Falls on November 11, 1913. The couple lived there where he managed the Farm Elevator until 1923 when they moved to Loyal.

Mr. Tridal who was the president of Citizens State Bank also served two terms as president of the village of Loyal. When it became a city he was mayor for a term. As a charter member of the Loyal Rotary Club he was also honored with the presidency of that organization.

Prominent in many organizations he was a past director of the Wisconsin Feed Dealers Association, director of the Neillsville Memorial Hospital and also a director of the Northern Wisconsin District Fair at Chippewa Falls.

As a member of the Chippewa Valley Boy Scout Council he had received its highest award, the Silver Beaver. He served on the finance committee of the Loyal Methodist Church of which he was a member.

Very active in Masonic circles he was a charter member of the Loyal Lodge 335, F. and A. M., the commandery of Knights Templer at Neillsville, the Scot???? ??? Consistory at Eau Claire and Zor Shrine Temple at Madison.

Mr. Trindal is survived by his wife and three children: William W. Trindal of Loyal, Mrs. Kenneth (Janice) Rice of Marshfield and Mrs. Roderick (Joyce) MacSwain of Green Bay. There are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. William W. Trindal of Minneapolis, three brothers, Lee Trindal of Minneapolis, George Trindal of Eau Claire, Glen Trindal of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and a sister, Mrs. Waldo (Irma) Shaver, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
